Handicap races will be sailed using the Mark Foy system where boats on the lowest handicap start first and highest last. The first boat(s) will start on the starting signal and subsequent boats at 10 second intervals relative to their handicap.
A handicapper for each class of boat will be appointed as required by the Club Committee.
Handicaps will be set by the handicappers based on previous race performance or knowledge of the ability of a new member.
Handicaps will be applied to a member/boat combination. For a new boat, or one that is not already part of a known combination, the member must advise the handicapper at least one day prior to the intended competition so a handicap can be posted.
Handicaps may be adjusted at any time during a series.
Current handicaps must be available on the Club website prior to the next scheduled race day for that Class.
Any member may ask a handicapper to review their handicap and if not satisfied may, in writing, ask for a review by the Club Committee.
Any request for changes to this Policy should be made in writing to the Club Committee.
